To keep the MSB’s from nesting out in the river a YFNB (basically a two story barge) was brought for the MSB boats to tie up. The Seal Team moved from the tents in to the YFNB. And yes, that is Nha Be in the back ground where our tents, gravity shower and chow tent were located. The ship, the Eastern Mariner, under a Panamanian Flag, was sunk while anchored one night. The Seal Team dove on another ship that was also anchored that night and brought up enough plastic explosive to fill the back of a pick-up truck. The Baton Rouge Victory was mined half-way up river and one person on that ship was killed. That started our long hours on the river (approx. 3 AM till 9 PM), we had to make one pass down river before they would open the river to shipping traffic.
